Day 01

Izamal

January 01

When I arrived here, I realized that Yucatán is a land of knowledge and encounters. A place where the footprints of three different worlds come together to form a single culture. It is the ancient Mayan people, the European influence, and the vibrant Mexican spirit that unite its people in this rich shared identity.

I felt it while walking through Izamal, the “City of Three Cultures,” where colonial architecture and religious beliefs whisper stories of the conquerors. In contrast, the ancient Mayan pyramids, like the majestic Kinich Kakmó, rise as guardians of ancestral memory, reminding us of the greatness and wisdom of this millenary civilization.

I can say that Yucatán is a land that recognizes and embraces us. It is an inspiration to look back at the past, understand our origins, and create new memories.
